End of an era: Random Players perform ‘Royal Tea’

€560 was raised for Algarve Families in Need

When the king Dom Manuel II was exiled, the monarchy in Portugal came to an end. He moved to Twickenham in England where he began a new life.

This was the subject of a play performed by the Random Players, called Royal Tea, with proceeds going to the registered charity Algarve Families in Need.

Thanks to the generosity of the audience, €560 was raised and will help to benefit some of the poorest families in our local area.

By contacting the charity directly, donations of furniture and household items are also appreciated.

Performances of ‘Royal Tea’ took place at Quinta das Borboletas in Areeiro, Almancil on January 18 and 25 and February 1.
