The Farmshop café in Figueira, near Portimão, offers clients international dishes, homemade recipes and a large range of gourmet products.
The owners of the café, Benedicte and Alister, hope to introduce a new concept in this kind of business in the Algarve. “Our German baker Kalle comes in every day to bake fresh bread, cakes and his famous Apfelstrudel (Apple Strüdel), which you can enjoy on the premises or take home,” said Benedicte.
“The café showcases the products you can buy in the shop along with mouth-watering daily dishes, soups and desserts all to be enjoyed inside or outside of the winter garden in front of the lovely fireplace. We also provide free Wi-Fi, so bring your laptop if you feel like browsing the internet,” added Alister.
The shop area has a unique selection of fine wines from the Algarve and Alentejo and many gourmet products, such as honey, extra virgin olive oil, aged balsamic vinegar and pasta.
“We also have a collection of award-winning chouriços from Monchique and locally made cheeses. Preserves, marmalades, chutneys and spices come courtesy of Jonnie Pratts Good Mood Food range and you can also find Lusitania’s Aloe Vera products all at very reasonable prices,” said Benedicte.“We hope The Farmshop will become a great place to shop, eat, drink and socialise,” Alister added.
The Farmshop is open Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 8pm and is located on EN125 road, six kilometres west of Portimão.
