Real estate company ERA is set to open a further 26 agencies in Portugal by the end of this year.
In the Algarve, ERA will strengthen its position in Faro and Lagos and will recruit around an extra 100 people.
“Despite the difficulties experienced in the first half of 2009, we managed to produce our best result ever since we started in Portugal,” said a spokesman.
ERA increased its turnover by 17 per cent last year, while the rest of the national market in Portugal fell by 14 per cent.
“These numbers reflect the strength of our company in 2009, and the results obtained in January this year lead us to believe 2010 will be a very good year for us.”
ERA has been established in Portugal for 12 years with 200 branches across the country that employ around 2,000 full-time workers.
