It’s off: the Oranta humanitarian association bus designed to evacuate Ukraine’s wounded from the front line began its long journey to Poland today, to hand over to the army at the border. Stops in Lagos (see above) and Faro have been accomplished: the bus is now on its way up to Lisbon where it will be stationed in Coreto do Jardim Manuel Bivar between the hours of 10am to 3pm, welcoming anyone who wants to make contact, and perhaps bring medical supplies that they imagine may be needed. Oranta president Roman Grymalyuk has referred to anything from simple flu and cold remedies, to pain killers, bandages and antiseptic lotions, etc. After Lisbon there will be a stop off in Gaia/ Porto (in Jardim do Morro, between 10am to 2pm), and then it’s straight on to the Polish border. The Resident hopes to bring further news/ pictures.
