Faro parish council has launched a new initiative that aims to reduce dog waste in public areas.
Each dog owner registering their pet, or renewing the obligatory annual dog licence, at the parish council will receive a blue, bone-shaped, waste bag dispenser.
The dispenser can be attached to the dog’s collar or leash so that the bags are always at hand.
As the parish council says, dog waste poses “a serious danger to public health” and it is up to the pet’s owner or walker to clean up after them.
