The Algarve’s string of autumn fairs starts this Thursday with Faro’s Feira de Santa Iria, a centuries-old fair which will bring a wide range of entertainment to the town’s Largo de São Francisco square until October 27.
The fair will feature the usual rides, market and food stalls and live entertainment.
Organised by municipal company Ambifaro, the event is believed to predate the year 1596.
Admission is free.
