Fartoon features 39 cartoons
Forum Algarve is hosting the fifth edition of Fartoon, an international cartoon exhibition which this year will focus on the importance of saving water.
Organised in partnership with Faro 1540 – Association for the Defence and Promotion of Faro’s Environmental and Cultural Heritage, the exhibition will run until April 14 on the shopping centre’s first floor.
Thirty-nine cartoons will be on display under the motto ‘Water, a challenge for Humanity’ in a bid to “raise awareness about the vital importance of this resource”.
“Saving water is a matter of concern for Forum Algarve. That is why we are greatly excited to host this exhibition,” says Forum Algarve manager Sérgio Santos. “The 39 cartoons we are hosting invite us to travel through the cheeky and satirical imagination of the artists, also providing an excellent opportunity for individual and collective reflection about such an important topic.”
The Faro-based shopping centre adds that sustainability is one of its “main priorities,” having already implemented “several measures to help save water.”
“In the last decade, Forum Algarve has reduced its water consumption by 3.4 million litres, the equivalent of 25,000 baths, having saved during this period the same amount of water that around 18,000 residents of Faro consume per day,” it says.
