Fig is king

The fig was picked as the theme of this month’s activities at the Caliços municipal market in Albufeira. Throughout August, a variety of culinary demonstrations, flea markets and musical performances will take place with a special emphasis on the gastronomic event on the morning of August 17 inspired by figs. The fruit is considered to be a good source for fibre and potassium and is ideal to boost energies after a long day at the Algarve beaches.
