“Fill up your fuel tanks!” This was the message today from minister for infrastructures Pedro Nuno Santos … almost three weeks ahead of the scheduled truckers’ strike.
“We have to be prepared”, he told journalists in Matosinhos during an event connected with railway investment. “The government is doing its work (to avoid the strike) but all of us need to start get prepared, instead of waiting for August 12… It would be advisable to fill up to face whatever happens with greater security”.
This second strike by truckers promises to be ‘even more devastating’ than the first which took place before Easter, for the simple reason that it involves two syndicates, including one for general deliveries, meaning foodstuffs (click here).
The government meantime has said that it is committed to providing an alternative network (click here).
