Final countdown for first Algarve Enóphilo Wine Fest

After twenty editions across the country, the wine fair heads to Vilamoura on March 2, with 35 producers showcasing more than 250 wines.

The final countdown has started for the Algarve’s first edition of the Enóphilo Wine Fest, an iconic wine fair, which, in this edition, will offer visitors the possibility of tasting wines from 35 national producers, 10 of which from the Algarve.

With just one week to go until the Vilamoura D. Pedro Hotel opens the doors of its congress centre to wine lovers on March 2, Luís Gradíssimo, founder of the event, revealed the fair, which is “aimed at people who like wine, whether consumers or professionals”, will allow visitors to taste some 250 wines.

The event has already held 20 editions in cities across Portugal, such as Lisbon, Porto and Braga, and has always sought to have “producers from all regions of the country” to allow “Portugal to be represented to the fullest” in terms of the different national wine-growing regions, noted Gradíssimo.

Presenting wines that stand out for their quality, the producers participating in the fair are “mainly small and medium-sized”, which can be found mostly outside the commercial circuit.

Working in collaboration with the Algarve’s Wine Commission (CVA), the organiser said, “We have a special participation here, in which we will have ten producers from the region exhibiting at an event where there will certainly be more than 250 wines on display”.

Luís Gradíssimo, who is originally from the Algarve, believes now is an “ideal” moment to host such an event because the region has more and better producers, constituting “a very attractive market”, which appeals “not only national consumers but also many internationally”.
