Portugal’s Civil Protection Authority has returned to various ‘hot weather fire-prevention prohibitions’ for the coming days as temperatures in some places are expected to reach 40ºC, even a little bit more.
Not allowed (understandably) are any activities involving fire in the countryside. Equally banned are farming activities, like strimming, fumigating bee hives, use of chainsaws etc. – basically anything using machinery that could send out sparks that could ignite tinder dry vegetation.
