“It couldn’t have been better,” said organisers of the first ‘Walk & Art Fest’ held in Barão de São João near Lagos between November 1 and 4.
Around 500 people took part enjoying a number of activities – 72 in total – from walks and workshops to concerts, art exhibitions and environmental awareness campaigns.
The event was organised by Lagos council and environmental association Almargem who believe it has the potential to become a “staple event” due to its link to art and the strategic location of Barão de São João.
“Participants were delighted by this village which has so much to show,” they said.
“The pleasant environment and the social interaction were vital to the event’s success. The biggest difficulty was choosing which activities to enjoy.”
Organisers revealed that they are already planning next year’s festival, which will take place between November 1 and 3, 2019.
