FLOW, a thought-provoking exhibition in Algarve

The three artists will be exhibiting a wide variety of work

“FLOW” is a thought-provoking exhibition by three artists currently working in the Algarve, Ana Antonio Gill, Jessica Dunn and Carola Colley, who will be presenting their recent work at the Art Gallery of the Museu do Traje in São Brás de Alportel, from March 1 to April 19.

The show aims to provide “a joyful counterpoint to these rather bleak times”.

For Ana, art is seen as a cathartic process, offering the potential for a pleasurable coincidence of like-mindedness with the viewer. A moment that may connect with another’s reality.

Jessica’s inspiration comes from her natural surroundings, the Algarve landscape and the wonderful southern light: “I want the visual experience to become an emotive one, giving the viewer an illusion of being immersed in nature, of walking into a painting and feeling lifted.”

Carola is an interdisciplinary artist inspired by the landscape and by investigations of interconnectivity and the liminal, the search for beauty in unexpected places.

The three artists will be exhibiting a wide variety of work, ranging from large scale painting to smaller work in oil, watercolour and acrylic, and wall mounted multimedia sculpture.

The Art Gallery is run by the Amigos do Museu and is an airy, light-filled space situated in the beautiful courtyard garden of the museum. There is a café, facilities and free entry to the exhibition.

The vernissage will be on Saturday, March 1, at 5pm.
