Over 40 competitors from Europe have entered the inaugural FootGolf Algarve Masters taking place at the Colina Verde Golf & Sports Resort in Maragota near Moncarapacho over Easter weekend (March 25-27).
The main event will be played over the three days and will involve 36 holes of FootGolf (four rounds over the specially prepared nine-hole course).
There are also two special categories, aimed at more leisurely players, being contested on March 25.
Seniors (over 50 years-old) and Ladies (all ages) will compete in 18-hole competitions for a €100 prize.
Tony Smith of Colina Verde said: “We hope local sportsmen and women will come and have a go at what is a very sociable and easy-to-play sport.”
With a €15 entry fee, the Seniors and Ladies competitions will run concurrently starting at 10.30am on Friday and finish in time for lunch.
