Miguel Albuquerque who resigned his position as regional governor of Madeira in the wake of a corruption probe (that later appeared to have stalled) has now been voted back as leader of PSD Madeira which now has to fight elections prompted by the same probe, likely to be held in May (see brief below). Mr Albuquerque received 2,246 votes against the 1,854 polled by his only ‘adversary’ in the internal elections held last night, Manuel António Correia.
