A free bus service that linked the Forum Algarve shopping centre to downtown Faro in July and August received an honourable mention at this year’s edition of the ICSC Solal Marketing Awards, which rewards the “very best retail marketing campaigns across Europe and South Africa”.
The bus service was awarded in the category of ‘Consumers Services’.
It could be used for free by anyone who wanted to make the trip from the shopping centre to downtown Faro and vice-versa.
To make tourists’ experience even more enjoyable, the shopping centre had a flight information display system with updated information on flight schedules and delays and allowed passengers to print their boarding passes for free.
Sérgio Santos, Forum Algarve manager, says the accolade is particularly important as “it is our mission to invest in the renovation of services for our visitors”.
“By providing this service, we knew we would also offer those who visit us a hassle-free experience of excellence. It makes us very proud to receive this honourable mention and international recognition in such an important category,” he said, adding that he is certain that the shopping centre will continue to provide remarkable experiences for its guests.
