Forum Algarve welcomes World Press Photo

The “most important photojournalism exhibition in the world”, the World Press Photo 2018, is returning to Forum Algarve in Faro between June 29 and July 22.

There will be hundreds of photos on display, including the World Press Photo of the Year 2018 captured by Venezuelan photographer Ronaldo Schemidt. The photograph shows a man who catches fire amid violent clashes with riot police during a protest against the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, in Caracas.

According to the organisers of the competition, the winning photographs were selected from 73,044 images taken by 4,548 photographers from 125 different countries.

The exhibition can be visited at the shopping centre’s main square from 10am to midnight. Admission is free.
