French president Emmanuel Macron is to address Portugal’s parliament on February 27, at a solemn session attended by Portugal’s head of state Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and prime minister Luís Montenegro. Mr Macron will be on a long-scheduled official visit to Portugal at the end of February (originally planned during the government of António Costa, but delayed due to France’s political crises). The visit is designed to reinforce bilateral relations between the two countries, and will also see Mr Macron sign a Treaty of Friendship between France and Portugal.
