Fundraising campaign organised by Algarve resident raises €1,000
As part of the Movember movement, Algarve resident Roy Carpenter organised a fundraising campaign in aid of Alzheimer Portugal – Algarve Branch.
Thanks to the generosity of local groups such as Freemasons of the Lodge of Peace and Harmony and friends, the amount raised reached €1,000.
“This sum will go a long way towards the work on the new facilities, which will enable more activities and services to be developed for People with Dementia, their families and carers,” said Alzheimer Portugal in a statement to the press.
In addition to providing information on caring for People with Dementia, legal and social support, Alzheimer Portugal Algarve Branch runs various specific activities for carers and/or people with dementia, such as information and training sessions, Café Memória, Musical(Mente) and psycho-educational groups for carers.
