After a night of drinking in December 2010, the now 33-year-old man was unable to find where he had parked his car, according to the Inquisitr.
When he failed to locate the vehicle the next morning, he reported it missing to police in Munich. The missing car was discovered by chance last month after a traffic warden noticed its inspection sticker had expired.
The elusive car was in a parking lot 2.5 miles away from where the craftsman thought he had parked and had searched two years earlier.
In the car boot were €40,000 worth of tools including power drills and electric screwdrivers.
