German prosecutors fail in bids to remove judges hearing trial against Maddie suspect

Braunschweig Public Prosecutor’s office has failed in two bids to remove judges in the cases they have brought against Christian Brückner– the final suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. The trial of Bruckner is due to reconvene on August 5. According to reports in Germany, if found guilty, Brückner may face additional charges in Portugal, as the Portuguese authorities are closely monitoring the court proceedings in Braunschweig.
