Agent suffers minor injuries, receives treatment in hospital
A GNR agent was treated in hospital after responding to a report of assault involving three people, two of whom have already been arrested, in the municipality of Faro, last night.
The incident was recorded at 9:45 pm, when a patrol responded to a report of assault, in a location that the GNR has not yet revealed.
“When they arrived at the scene they (the police agents) were also met with assaults. They were able to arrest a 24-year-old male individual at the time, and an agent received hospital care for bruises and has already been discharged,” the Public Relations officer of Faro’s GNR Territorial Command has told Lusa.
The force was later able to find and arrest a second man, of the three who were involved in the altercation, said Captain António Ramos.
When asked about the location where the incident occurred, the GNR source refused to reveal the exact location, but placed the facts in the municipality of Faro.
The two detainees will be brought before an investigating judge on Monday for their first judicial interrogation, who will then decide on bail measures.
