João Lopes, the GNR agent attached to Odemira police station jailed for aggressions against immigrants has seen his expulsion from the force include the loss, to himself and his family, of any and all benefits that would normally have been due an officer of the security forces. The dispatch to this effect was signed by minister for internal administration, Margarida Blasco, who has vowed to purge the police forces in this country of what she calls “rotten fruit”.
