Portugal’s National Republican Guard (GNR) has today announced the start of ‘Operation Safe Summer 2024’ throughout the country, with increased patrols, support and surveillance, especially in areas with the highest numbers of Portuguese and foreign holidaymakers. The operation runs until 15 September and will cover holidaymakers, events, establishments and nightclubs, major roads, borders, residences and forest protection.
