"Golden Visa" Chinese man wanted by Interpol escapes extradition

Lisbon’s Court of Appeal has rejected the extradition of Xiaodong Wang, the Chinese man wanted by Interpol for a series of frauds committed in China before moving to Portugal as a holder of a ‘golden visa’.
According to Lusa news agency, the court found that the crimes Wang is accused of are not applicable under Portugal’s legal regime.
Wang had been in custody of Portuguese authorities since the end of April but has now been released.
