Open since February 2008, Estrela do Mar restaurant in Rua dos Moinhos, Carvoeiro, offers a wide selection of regional Portuguese and international dishes cooked with the freshest ingredients at reasonable prices.
João Reis, restaurant manager, attended the Faro Professional Hotel School where he specialised in the skills of the bartender and then worked in hotels at Vale do Lobo and Albufeira, where he gained extensive experience dealing with the most demanding of customers.
He returned to Carvoeiro, which he describes as the place where he identifies with and where he has his roots, and started to work at some restaurants and bars before he joined Estrela do Mar.
Relax outdoors
João Reis says the highlights of the menu are fish fillets and pork tenderloin with figs or pineapple and what he describes as economic dishes such as grilled chicken piri piri and grilled chicken breast with mango.
“Estrela do Mar restaurant is a very pleasant place to have a meal. Our best clients are British, German and Portuguese. We have two terraces where our guests can enjoy a good meal and families can relax while their children play,” he said.
“The restaurant is located in a very quiet place and offers our customers low prices and good quality food,” he added.
Estrela do Mar restaurant, just a short walk from Cristal and Tivoli hotels, is open every day from 10.30am to 11.30pm.
