Following this morning’s meeting with the mayors of greater Lisbon, the government has “actioned all means of vigilance” to combat nighttime rioting and acts of vandalism that have followed the shooting dead in the early hours of last Monday by PSP police of a man in Cova da Moura. Minister for the Presidency António Leitão Amaro guarantees that all mechanisms will be in force to “detect wrongdoings”. PSP police have already described a policy of ‘zero tolerance’.
