An ‘exclusive’ today claims the government will not be sanctioning a second mandate for governor of the Bank of Portugal, Mário Centeno – the country’s former Socialist finance minister whose leap from politics to a state institution was always seen as a tad too overt. Euroactiv online remarked: “Never have the revolving doors of finance spun so fast”. They now appear to be spinning again, but official sources have not yet confirmed this story.
