Government ‘withdraws bills on IRS Jovem and IRC reductions’

In what is looking like positive signs for voting on the 2025 State Budget the government is said to be “withdrawing” its bills on IRS Jovem (income tax reductions for the young) and IRC (commercial) tax reductions – the two measures that have failed to find agreement with PS Socialists. With the famous ‘pen’ containing all the budget proposals being ‘presented’ in parliament this afternoon, the tension fanned by endless media reports appears to be relaxing. The media is interpreting the government’s strategy as “a sign of good faith” with a view to ‘approximating positions with the Socialists that allow approval of the document’.
