The municipal museum of Tavira will host a guided tour of the ‘Balsa, Roman City’ exhibition, led by archaeologist Celso Candeias, on Saturday, October 26 at 10.30am.
Currently on display at the Galeria Palace, the exhibition offers a fascinating journey back 2,000 years to when Balsa, located along the Ria Formosa estuary, was a thriving Roman city.
Visitors will explore 10 rooms filled with around 100 artifacts from various national museums, showcasing different aspects of Balsa’s origins, economic life, daily habits, and even the personal stories of its inhabitants.
Participation is limited to 15 people, and registration is open until Friday, October 25 online.
