The mutilated ‘half body’ of a man discovered in Lisbon’s Lapa district in the early hours of Monday morning has been identified. The remains are those of a foreign man*, aged 35, who had been a resident in this country “for some time”. PJ judicial police are still investigating this macabre case, but “from the vast number of diligencies realised up till now” have at least been able “to conclude the victim’s identity”. Expresso today has carried a story saying police are working on this case having a possible connection to a sexual relationship.
UPDATE: Investigations have moved on a little: a suspect is in being questioned by police and will be presented before magistrates tomorrow. The suspect is a Spaniard, aged 48, reportedly the former boyfriend of the victim, who has now been confirmed as a Brazilian.
