Havana Social Club brings Cuban vibes to Albufeira

Paying tribute to Cuba’s rich cultural heritage, the musical ensemble is scheduled to perform in the Municipal Auditorium on November 23.

On November 23 at 21:30, Albufeira’s Municipal Auditorium will host a concert that promises to take its audience on a captivating journey through Cuba’s rich musical traditions.

Havana Social Club presents a concert honouring the great masters of «Son», a genre the Republic of Cuba recognised in 2012 as a National Cultural Heritage.

The Cuban music style, born in the fields and working-class areas, is the musical soul of the island and is responsible for creating some of the most memorable themes in the Cuban song repertoire.

On the day of the show, the public will relive the sounds that marked the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, with interpretations of themes immortalised by iconic artists such as Compay Segundo, Nico Saquito, Los Compadres, Buena Vista Social Club and Omara Portuondo.

The event organisers highlight that “the show will be a true celebration of Cuban culture, with reinterpretations of the great classics. The public is invited to savour the essence of Cuban culture and the colour of Latin Jazz”.

The “trés,” a guitar of Spanish heritage with three double-string pairs, will take centre stage during the event, establishing the characteristic Latin rhythm “loaded with emotion and contagious energy”.

With an irresistible combination of nostalgia and excitement, Havana Social Club promises a night full of melodies that keep the memory of great Cuban artists and their timeless musical legacy alive.

Tickets cost €25 and are available online – through the Ticketline and Blueticket platforms – or at Worten and Fnac stores.

“This concert is an unmissable opportunity for traditional Cuban music lovers and anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture of the Caribbean Island”, points out Albufeira City Council.
