Pneumologist and specialist in intensive medicine Filipe Frões has told tabloid Correio da Manhã that, in his opinion, there should be a policy of ‘zero tolerance’ when it comes to vaccine wastage. The comment refers to both the flu and Covid-19 vaccines, which health authorities in Portugal are extending to younger age groups as initial target groups have not come forwards in the numbers anticipated.
