A GROUP of nurses have established a company which aims to provide a high quality nursing service, at an affordable price, and care tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
Home Care Nurses has been established by people who, with their connections with many other allied healthcare professionals, are able to deliver a wide range of care outside the hospital setting.
Head nurses Julia Edney and Jenny Hilton told The Resident: “We met each other through our work and found we shared a mutual love of nursing and commitment to patient care.”
Home Care Nurses provides healthcare services that include supporting early discharge from hospital and escorting patients to and from hospital appointments. They also offer flight escorts back to the patient’s home country if required.
Expertise
Julia and Jenny trained to degree level in the UK and are fully registered to work in both Portugal and the UK. Their qualifications and expertise are in oncology (cancer care), emergency nursing, primary care, paediatrics, chronic disease management and pain control.
They can also offer their patients electro-acupuncture to alleviate pain and other symptoms such as sinusitis, arthritis, and migraines.
Helpful advice is another useful tool to aid recovery from ill health, and it is for this reason they deliver managed homecare, health education and advice for individual patients and interested groups.
