Around 48-hours after a 21-year-old university student was hit so violently in central Lisbon by a speeding taxi that his body was projected 17 metres down the Avenuda dos EUA, PSP police managed to identity the driver, and arrest him on suspicion of murder. According to witnesses, the taxi – a Skoda – did not even slow down. The victim – a student at Lisbon’s Nova University (Faculty of Sciences and Technology) – was a talented, popular young man whose untimely death has devastated family and friends.
