Yesterday’s rather grisly story of human bones found piled up behind a washing machine in a house rental in Estoril has turned out to be a false alarm: the bones were animal bones, forensic experts have concluded, and the likely reason that they were ‘piled up behind the washing machine’ was that the previous tenants “had a lack of hygiene” (or perhaps a rather black sense of humour…)
