Two human skulls were discovered yesterday in a municipal garden in Viseu. One was mounted on a stick, the other found nearby on the ground. The council worker who came upon them in the Santo António green space was “petrified”, reports Correio da Manhã – “as were local schoolchildren”. The prank “in very poor taste” appears to have used skulls taken from a nearby cemetery for soldiers from the colonial war.
The skulls have since been taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine while police try to discover which graves they may have come from.
CM reports PSP investigators are confident this was not a case of witchcraft or any kind of ritual.
