Iconic Carvoeiro hotel to reopen as five-star Wyndham Grand Carvoeiro Algarve

Wyndham Grand Carvoeiro Algarve will boast 134 rooms

Hotel Baía Cristal, an iconic four-star hotel in Carvoeiro currently undergoing extensive renovations, will reopen as the five-star Wyndham Grand Carvoeiro Algarve, boasting 134 rooms.

The new-look hotel, located near the popular Vale Centeanes beach, will “reopen soon,” according to a banner recently put up outside the hotel.

The goal of the renovation project is to “modernise the hotel’s image and adapt it to the needs of its guests, ensuring excellent service throughout their stay,” says DDN, the engineering company tasked with supervising the construction project and coordinating safety procedures during the renovation work, on its website.

“The concept involves a full renovation of the existing hotel – a building originally constructed in the 1980s – including changes to the current architecture, as well as all finishes on floors, walls, and ceilings, bathrooms, and interior design. It will also include the creation of new guest rooms and the remodelling of all common and outdoor areas, including the addition of a new swimming pool,” the company adds.

Once completed, the hotel will be a “five-star property with 134 rooms” and will boast “a restaurant, a meeting room, support areas, and communal spaces”.
