GNR police are investigating
An Indian man was viciously beaten by a group of young people outside a bar in the centre of Cabanas de Tavira, a small fishing village near Tavira, on December 23.
National tabloid Correio da Manhã has shared shocking footage of the attack, which shows the man being kicked several times in the head.
The reasons behind the attack are still unclear. According to CM, the victim was surrounded by the group at around 4am outside the bar and attacked multiple times by several people.
A foreign couple witnessed the attack and tried to help but also ended up being assaulted, the tabloid adds. The group fled before authorities arrived at the scene.
The victims filed a complaint and an investigation is underway. According to a GNR police, several witnesses have already been identified.
CM says that the Indian man was taken to the hospital but was discharged on the same day.
