INEM now under direct responsibility of health minister

Minister of Health Ana Paula Martins says that INEM (the country’s institute for medical emergency) is now under her direct responsibility. She guarantees the government’s priorities are to find solutions to the last week’s emergency response dramas and restore confidence. “INEM has been under my direct responsibility for the last two days because it is a matter of enormous priority,” she told journalists. It is necessary to restore confidence to the population after all the “social alarm” of the last few days, to which the government “is neither indifferent nor unaware”, she said.
