A husband who allegedly killed his former partner by slitting her throat with a kitchen knife has had his plea of temporary insanity rejected by a court in Bragança. Jorge Silva, 37, has been remanded in custody pending trial. According to Correio da Manhã, he will receive medical support while in prison. The former soldier is understood to have alerted police shortly after the incident, “confessing the crime and expressing regret”.
