International Guitar Festival back in Lagoa this September

Concerts take place on stages throughout Lagoa to highlight the municipality’s most emblematic sites

Lagoa’s International Guitar Festival is back for its 9th edition. From the 10th of September to the 1st of October, a variety of international musicians will put on performances of different musical genres to please every guitar lover.

Over the course of four weekends, the concerts will take place on various stages dotted around the municipality, including the Arvad and Quinta dos Vales wineries, the Carvoeiro beach amphitheatre, and the Convento de S. José Cultural Centre in the centre of town.

“The festival’s role is also to offer the opportunity to enhance the municipality’s heritage,” says Eudoro Grade, the festival’s artistic director. Concerts will take place in different locations, “providing knowledge and contact with the most emblematic sites, monuments and infrastructures of the municipality.”

Tickets for each of the concerts cost €10 and can be purchased online and at the CTT, Fnac, Worten, Auditorium Carlos do Carmo, Centro Cultural Convento de S. José and Balcão Único da Câmara Municipal de Lagoa.

The concerts start at 18:00, except for the presentation of the International Guitar Competition Cidade de Lagoa, which starts at 17:00 on the last day of the festival.
