Join the Algarveans’ Down The Old Bull And Bush…

Coming hard on the heels of their last show ‘Talking Heads’, The Algarveans Experimental Theatre Group is launching ‘Down At The Old Bull and Bush’, an old time music hall, to be staged at Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório in Silves next year.

“Having put on ‘Talking Heads’ at the Silves theatre, many members of our group and the audience said how this wonderful venue would suit a classic old time music hall format,” said Algarveans chairperson Melanie Winstanley. “So we have been working really hard to put together a show full of old favourites, plenty of laughter and some brand new material.”

The show will be staged for three nights from March 31 to April 2.

The group is looking for new people to join them and be involved with the show, and will be holding an open public workshop on Saturday, December 12 at 3pm at the Lagoa Bombeiros building.

Jan Shepheard, the show’s director, said: “We are hoping that people who have thought about getting involved in amateur theatre come along and give it a go, and see what fun we have putting on a show.”

The aim of the workshop is for members of the production team to share their ideas for the show, both on stage and back of house. The workshop is free to attend.
