Journalist forcibly removed from debate involving CHEGA leader

A journalist for Expresso claims he was attacked and forcibly removed from a debate at Lisbon’s Portuguese Catholic University at which CHEGA leader André Ventura was speaking. CHEGA has denied all responsibility (the event was run by the Catholic University); the university has accused CHEGA of “deliberate manipulation”, the journalist and Expresso are incensed over what they say was ‘an attack on press freedom’, and the syndicate of journalists has denounced the incident as “a public crime, committed in full view of many people, which must be investigated and punished with the utmost rigour”.
