THE POLICIA JUDICIÁRIA has called Kate and Gerry McCann to be interviewed again in connection with the investigation of their daughter Madeleine’s disappearance.
Kate is being re-interviewed today (Thursday) and Gerry will be at the PJ in Portimão tomorrow (Friday) also at 2pm.
The Resident was told that the couple was called by the PJ in a “witness status” to be re-interviewed, and that this new move could be related to the forensic tests being made in the UK.
This will not be one of their regular, more relaxed updating meetings with the PJ, The Resident was told.
According to British TV reports this morning, separate meetings were considered as unusually formal.
Experts at the Forensic Science Service (FSS) in Birmingham have spent the past month analysing samples taken from the McCanns’ holiday apartment in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz. The evidence recovered includes blood traces found by British sniffer dogs.
Although the Portuguese Police has not confirmed the arrival of the long-awaited forensic results, The Resident was told that the PJ investigators have been discreetly building new lines of investigation in the case, based on the results that the Birmingham lab has forwarded to the Portuguese forensic labs in Lisbon in the last couple of weeks.
