it can sometimes be a tough job for parents to keep children entertained, especially during the long school holidays. Oceânico Kid’s Club may just have the solution many parents are looking for.
The Kid’s Club is an official registered business set up and run by Sam King and Lola Smithson, both experienced and qualified child carers, with first aid qualifications.
Having met in the Algarve seven years ago, they decided to set up in business together. Structuring children’s time to keep them busy, happy and out of mischief, as well as fitting that in with working parents’ lives can prove stressful.
Expansion
Sam was already a nanny to twins for a Portuguese family so, together with Lola, the friends expanded their nanny and babysitting services. Now the Kid’s Club employs seven reps and has expanded the business with clubs based at the Oceânico resorts of Estrela da Luz in Praia da Luz and Jardim da Meia Praia in Lagos. Their doors are now also open to the local public to provide a service which benefits the local community as well as tourists.
The Oceânico Kid’s Club is open to children aged between four and 12. Children can stay at the club all day and have lunch in one of the Oceânico restaurants, either at the Hugo Beaty Café or Destino Restaurant. Alternatively, they can come for a morning or afternoon session.
The timetable of activities is changed daily and lists many items, including monster making, bug making and hunting, clay making, quizzes and varied games. There is also an exciting choice of sporting events such as rounders on the beach, tennis competitions, ball games and five-a-side football.
To book a place for your child, please telephone at least a day in advance to Estrela da Luz reception on 282 771 200. For more information, please contact either Sam King or Lola Smithson on 966 288 792.
