Lagoa begins €850,000 road repaving project

An additional €1.5 million is due to be invested in repaving works in 2025

Several roads and streets are being repaved in Lagoa as part of a €850,000 project. Works started in October and are expected to continue until the end of the year, the municipal council has announced in a statement.

The repaving works are divided into three main areas – the parish of Porches; the parish union of Lagoa and Carvoeiro; and the parish union of Estômbar and Parchal.

Unlike recent years, the focus is mainly on urban areas where roads are in poor condition due to the wear-and-tear of years of traffic.

From Senhora da Rocha all the way to Ferragudo, nearly 20 roads and neighbourhoods will benefit from the improvements. While the roads to be repaved have are already chosen, the municipal council says that changes to the original plans may be made.

In addition to the ongoing repaving work, the municipality is also repairing small potholes and trenches across the area with the help of an external company.

Looking ahead, Lagoa is planning further repaving efforts for 2025, with an expected investment of €1.5 million.
