It’s called ‘Lagoa Wine Show’ and is designed to promote the municipality as a “wine region of excellence”.
Taking place between April 2 and 4 at the Centro de Congressos do Arade in Parchal, the event will bring together wine producers from Lagoa and all across the country, and feature everything from wine tastings to debates, lectures and even a programme of entertainment.
Says the local council, hopes are that the ‘Lagoa Wine Show’ – organised by Lagoa council and the Algarve Wine Route (Rota dos Vinhos do Algarve) – will become “one of the biggest wine events of the south of Portugal”.
The event will also pay tribute to everyone who helps make wine one of the “hallmarks” of the municipality.
The ‘Lagoa Wine Show’ is only one of the wine-related events included in Lagoa’s programme for 2015, which will focus on wine. Last year, the theme was ‘The Year of the Sea’.
Thus a number of other events relating to wine are expected to take place this year in the municipality.
Organisers of Lagoa’s popular Algarve summer fair Fatacil have also announced that wine will be the theme of 2015’s fair.
