Participants will gather at the Senhora da Rocha promontory to observe the night sky on July 25.
Lagoa is once again hosting the “Astronomy in Summer” on July 25. The activity, which consists of nighttime astronomical observation with a telescope, will take place at the Senhora da Rocha promontory between 21h00 and 23h30.
During the evening, participants can observe stars and constellations with “the naked eye” and a telescope. They will be challenged to find hidden objects in the sky with a telescope to find constellations.
However, according to the organisation, only the first participants to arrive will be able to see the “evening star”.
There will also be a projection of images related to the theme on a TV monitor with commentaries made by Centro Ciência Viva do Algarve employees.
The activity, organised by the municipality of Lagoa in collaboration with the Centro Ciência Viva do Algarve, is free, and registration can be done here.
