The event aims to fund the medical treatments of Constança and Vicente
A charity event to raise crucial funds for two local children in need of intensive medical treatments will take place at the Lifestyle co-working space at Vila Mós in Lagos on Saturday, December 14.
Running from 11am to 7pm, the event is promising holiday cheer for a meaningful cause.
The event aims to fund the medical treatments of Constança and Vicente, two children from the local community requiring urgent and continuous care. Proceeds will directly support their ongoing therapies, which are vital to improving their quality of life.
Constança is a six-year-old girl with KAT6A syndrome, an extremely rare genetic neurodevelopmental disorder. Common symptoms include speech delays, development issues, trouble eating, eyesight problems, diminished muscle tone (hypotonia), sensorial deficiencies, serious gastrointestinal issues, heart anomalies and convulsions.
On the other hand, Vicente was born with cerebral palsy, a group of disorders that affect a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture.
Both conditions require costly treatments which their parents cannot afford on their own, which is why the local community has banded together during the festive season.
Admission is €10 for adults and €5 for children. Guests can enjoy festive snacks, drinks, and sweets, while children can enjoy several fun-filled activities and the chance to meet Santa for photos.
“We are sure that we will be able to raise the needed funds to secure the treatments that Constança and Vicente so badly need,” organisers say.
